Ubiquiti UniFi U7-PRO-WALL WiFi 7 Access Point

Ubiquiti UniFi U7-PRO-WALL WiFi 7 Access Point

The U7-PRO-WALL is a tri-band WiFi 7 access point for professional wall-mounted wireless networks. It provides coverage across an area of up to 140 square metres. Moreover, it supports more than 300 connected clients. Six spatial streams, a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet uplink, and Power over Ethernet Plus make it suitable for offices, hotels, schools, shops, and large homes.

Product Overview

The access point operates across the 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz frequency bands. Therefore, compatible devices can access wider channels and higher wireless data rates. Each radio supports 2 × 2 downlink and uplink Multi-User Multiple-Input Multiple-Output technology.

The U7-PRO-WALL supports a maximum data rate of 5.8Gbps on the 6GHz band. Meanwhile, the 5GHz radio reaches 4.3Gbps, while 2.4GHz supports up to 688Mbps. Actual speeds depend on the client device, channel width, interference, network load, and local regulations.

A 2.5GbE RJ45 uplink helps reduce wired network bottlenecks. In addition, PoE+ carries power and data through one Ethernet cable. This design simplifies installation because the access point does not need a separate local power adapter.

Common Applications

The access point suits offices, hotels, schools, clinics, shops, meeting rooms, and large homes. Its wall-mounted design works well in rooms where ceiling installation may not be suitable. Furthermore, its client capacity supports spaces with many phones, laptops, tablets, displays, and other wireless devices.

For effective coverage, installers should consider wall materials, room layout, interference, client capabilities, and access point placement. They should also confirm PoE capacity and suitable wired uplink speeds before installation.

Why Choose This Product?

The U7-PRO-WALL combines WiFi 7, tri-band operation, and a 2.5GbE uplink in a compact wall-mounted design. Therefore, it provides a practical upgrade for sites that need modern wireless performance without ceiling mounting.

Additionally, PoE+ simplifies cabling, while UniFi Network provides central monitoring and configuration. Features such as band steering, fast roaming, client isolation, and wireless schedules also support organised network management. As a result, the access point suits professional networks that require scalable coverage and clear administrative control.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the U7-PRO-WALL support WiFi 7?

Yes. It supports IEEE 802.11be WiFi 7 alongside earlier WiFi standards. However, client devices must also support the relevant standard, frequency band, and channel width to use the available WiFi 7 features.

Is this access point dual-band or tri-band?

It is a tri-band access point. It operates on the 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands. Therefore, administrators can distribute compatible devices across three radios and reduce pressure on crowded wireless bands.

How much area can it cover?

The manufacturer specifies coverage of up to 140 square metres. However, actual coverage varies with wall construction, access point position, radio settings, interference, and client device quality.

How many clients can it support?

The access point supports more than 300 connected clients. Nevertheless, actual user experience depends on internet bandwidth, network traffic, application requirements, radio conditions, and the number of active devices.

Does it require a PoE injector?

The access point requires PoE+ power through its Ethernet port. A compatible PoE+ switch can power it directly. Otherwise, use a suitable PoE+ injector. Confirm whether the injector forms part of the supplied package before purchase.

Does it have a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port?

Yes. It includes one RJ45 port that supports 1GbE and 2.5GbE connections. Therefore, a compatible 2.5GbE switch port can provide a faster wired uplink for high-bandwidth wireless traffic.

Can it operate as part of a mesh network?

Yes. It supports wireless meshing with compatible managed access points. However, a wired Ethernet uplink usually provides more consistent capacity because wireless mesh links share available radio resources.
